Oxandrolone has the reputation of being a relatively weak steroid, especially when compared to oral compounds like methandienone or oxymetholone. In fact, oxandrolone is certainly less toxic than many other compounds and while the gains from this product may not be as dramatic as those experienced from using more powerful orals oxandrolone remains a popular choice by athletes especially for cutting cycles. Oxandrolone will not induce noticeable gains in body weight but rather helps produce quality muscle and strength gains. Oxandrolone is a DHT derivative modified to allow it to survive metabolism by the liver. Interestingly, despite this fact, oxandrolone remains relatively easy on the liver and the endocrine system even at high doses. Man rarely report side effects from using oxandrolone and the most common complaint from female users is an enlarged clitoris. With all that said, it is important to remember that despite the seemingly innocuous nature of oxandrolone, the potential for side effects does exist and prolonged, moderate to high dose (40 mg-80 mg/day) use will most certainly require some post-cycle therapy contrary to much “bro-science”.
