Product Overview
Dragon Pharma Kisspeptin is a lyophilised 10 mg vial of kisspeptin-10, the shortest active piece of the peptide family that also includes the full-length human kisspeptin-54. The name metastin comes from the original description of the KISS1 gene as a metastasis suppressor, so the molecule carries a cancer-research name and a reproductive function. Structurally it is an RF-amide peptide with a conserved block of ten amino acids at the C-terminal end, and it is the natural ligand of the receptor called GPR54, now usually written Kiss1R.
Its place in the body is upstream of the gonads. Kisspeptin signalling drives GnRH release, and GnRH drives LH and FSH from the pituitary, which is why this peptide appears in discussions of testosterone production and of the HPG axis rather than in muscle-building ones. The relationship to the rest of the shelf is by topic and not by mechanism: Melanotan II and PT-141 act on melanocortin receptors for libido and tanning, while kisspeptin works through the reproductive axis. No kisspeptin has been approved as a medicine anywhere.
Reconstitution and Research Amounts
The vial arrives as powder and is dissolved with bacteriostatic water added against the wall of the vial, never by shaking. A 10 mg vial supports two clean concentrations, and the numbers below are division and unit conversion only.
| Vial plus diluent | 10 mg + 2 ml gives 5 mg per ml; 10 mg + 1 ml gives 10 mg per ml |
| Mixing at 5 mg per ml | Each 0.1 ml carries 0.5 mg, the number that lines up with the 10 unit mark; each 0.2 ml carries a full milligram |
| Mixing at 10 mg per ml | Each 0.1 ml carries 1 mg, so a 0.5 mg draw is a 0.05 ml volume and needs a low-volume barrel |
| Human study data | In healthy men an intravenous bolus raised serum LH and FSH at 0.3 and 1.0 nmol per kg |
| Female response | No LH or FSH response in the follicular phase; in the preovulatory phase both hormones rose at 10 nmol per kg |
| Research conventions | 6 to 10 mcg per kg subcutaneously, or flat 100 to 500 mcg per injection; infusion schemes of 4 mcg per kg per hour appear in academic work |
Those figures describe how the peptide has been handled in research, not an approved dose for anyone. The last row in particular is a set of practical conventions collected from studies and vendor material, and the fact base labels it exactly that way.
The Reproductive Axis and Recovery Context
A four minute half-life decides how this peptide is studied. A single bolus produces a short spike of LH, so academic protocols use repeated injections or a continuous infusion instead of one large dose. Infusion at 4 mcg per kg per hour is a laboratory arrangement rather than something available on a bench at home.
In bodybuilding discussion kisspeptin-10 is mentioned as a way to stimulate the body's own LH during recovery, sometimes as an alternative to or an addition to HCG 5000 iu or the smaller HCG 2500 iu format. There are no published studies of that use, and there is a real difference in mechanism to keep in view: HCG acts directly on the testis as an LH analogue and HMG 150IU supplies FSH activity, while kisspeptin works on the hypothalamus and depends on a pituitary that is able to answer.
What to Expect
- LH and FSH rise. This is the confirmed human finding: an intravenous bolus lifted both hormones at 0.3 and 1.0 nmol per kg in healthy men.
- Sex and cycle phase decide the answer. Women in the follicular phase did not respond, and preovulatory women responded at a far higher exposure, which is essential context when reading any report on the peptide.
- Short does not mean subtle. The effect is real but brief, with a half-life near four minutes, so one injection does not hold testosterone up for a day and a durable rise should not be expected from it.
- Aldosterone moves as well. Kisspeptin also stimulates aldosterone secretion from the adrenal cortex, described in the sources as a finding of its own rather than a bonus.
- No approval and no human safety record. The peptide is not a medicine and is sold for research use; long-term and repeat-infusion safety data are absent from the sources.
- Sport status. Kisspeptin and its agonists appear by class in the WADA list as S2, prohibited at all times.
Side Effects and Management
Nothing here is dose-independent, and the two entries that matter most follow directly from the pharmacology: what goes up quickly comes down quickly, and the adrenal signal travels with the gonadal one.
Axis Monitoring and No PCT
Kisspeptin-10 is not a recovery drug, and the distinction is worth stating plainly: it stimulates the axis while it is present, and it does not restore an axis that has been suppressed by androgens. The fact base records no clinical data for that role at all, so the table below describes observation rather than therapy.
